What is RSS?

RSS, is a web based format for delivering frequently changing content quickly and efficiently. An RSS document also known as a feed contains either summaries of latest content, or the full articles from a specific website.

Feeds makes it possible for people to stay easily informed by only retrieving the latest content in an efficient automated fashion, instead of having to manually visit each website individually.

RSS content can be read using software called an RSS reader or aggregator; a variety of different readers are available for different computing platforms, more information about RSS can be found at whatisrss.com.

Check back at a later date for links to news feeds from the SIDS New Zealand website.
